How Lagos Police Command uncovered kidnapper’s hideout

Two weeks after the Lagos State Police Command had uncovered kidnapper’s den at Isawo, Ikorodu, they made another breakthrough on Thursday where arms as well as police and military life jackets were stockpiled.

National Daily learnt that the hideout was discovered on Thursday by a team of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and Volunteer Police led by Superintendent Godfrey Soriweiu.

The discovery was revealed by the Commissioner of  Police in Lagos, Mr Fatai Owoseni.

He said it was recovered during raids of creeks at Isawo in Ikorodu area of Lagos.

He reiterated that “In continuation of its onslaught on militants operating from the creeks, Lagos State Police Command early Thursday morning raided and recovered seven army and police bulletproof vests.

“The teams also recovered eight ballistic helmets and nine life jackets from a new kidnapper’s hideout in Lagos.”

It was further gathered that other items recovered from the den included a speed boat belonging to the suspected kidnappers, “he said.

CP Owoseni added that the suspected kidnappers were at the time men of the Nigerian Police stormed their hideout, preparing their breakfast, ran to safety when they sighted them.

However, the camp was later decimated by the police team.
