Apostle Johnson Suleman has broken his silence after surviving an attack along Benin-Auchi-Warake road in Edo state during which seven persons including three policemen were killed.
In a short video, Suleman confirmed the death of seven persons travelling with him. He also confirmed that his family was travelling with him when the assailants attacked them.
He said: “Since 2017, a lot of things have been happening that I have been quiet about. Even if you are the most careless person on earth, you will not give yourself to so much scandals… I have just escaped an assassination attempt.
“Seven people were killed. My car was attacked. They opened fire on my car and kept spraying it with bullets. Both my wife and my kids were there. The escort car was there. They killed the policemen. They killed the other people at the back. Seven people were killed.
“People would be expecting me to mention their names so that they can come out and deny it. I won’t do that. But the truth of the matter is this, you can’t kill me. My life is in the hand of God. I’m a man of God.
“And those who are among those attacking me, you are building on what you don’t understand. You have joined the fight because you want to chase clout, there are things you don’t understand.
“You don’t have an idea of what happened in 2017…I’m alive for those who have been calling and all that. My family is fine. I feel bad for the lives that have been taken. We are mourning but Jesus is Lord. And for all those whom they killed, may their souls rest in peace.. with time, the truth will come out.”
Suleman had returned from a foreign trip and was heading to a destination in Edo State when the assailants attacked his convoy around the Auchi area of the state.
Suleman’s lawyer, Samuel Amune, also confirmed the attack, adding that the Apostle just returned from a program in Tanzania.
“He was returning to Auchi when the gunmen attacked him along Sabingida down to Warake area, and Auchi shares direct boundary with Warake. He had passed Warake and was entering the boundaries of Auchi when the attack happened.”
