Implementation of NDDC forensic audit has started – Akpabio
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, acknowledging that the forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has been completed, and the report submitted to the Ministry for presentation to President Muhammadu Buhari, said that the federal government has already started the implementation of the audit report.
Akpabio, former Akwa Ibom State governor, however, stated that the Ministry would formally submit the forensic audit report on an approved date to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Affirming that the implementation of the forensic audit report has started, Akapbio assured that the Ministry of Niger Delta would utilise the recommendations of the forensic auditors to reposition the NDDC.
Akpabio noted that the 3 per cent allocation to the host communities in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) is not the problem, but the deployment of the funds to the host communities and the judicious use of the funds by the appropriate authorities.
The Minister stated that President Buhari is a no-nonsense man and would not hold back anything belonging to the region or condone any act of impropriety.
