INEC complies with court order, issues certificate of return to Sen Olujimi
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday complied with the court order to issue certificate of return to Senator Biodun Olujimi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the authentic winner of the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election in Ekiti State. The commission, accordingly withdrew the certificate or return earlier issued to Senator Adeyeye of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who was previously declared winner of the election by the INEC.
Adeyeye had earlier been inaugurated as a member of the Ninth Senate and was appointed Senate committee chairman on media and publicity.
The Court of Appeal upturned Adeyeye’s election and declared Olujimi winner of the February poll in Ekiti State.
