INEC declares PDP winner of Plateau North Senate seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Istifanus Gyang, winner of the Plateau North Senatorial Election

The declaration which came five days after the presidential and national assembly elections was done amidst tension and tight security in Jos.

Also, the commission announced the result of Jos North/Bassa federal constituency which the returning officer, Professor Francis Kwese, declared inconclusive because tudun wada/kabong ward results were canceled.

The senator-elect, Istifanus Gyang, promised to focus on peace and unity of the state.

The electorate in Jos north/Bassa federal constituency are waiting anxiously for the rerun election.
