Jiwa community hands over land for 2nd Runway of Abuja airport
The indigenes of Jiwa community in the Federal capital Territory (FCT) have handed over land for the second Runway at the Abuja International Airport, to the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, in a statement, explained that the land was handed over to the ministry after the federal government paid compensation to the people for the acquisition of the land.

Yesterday, the people of Jiwa community in the FCT formally handed over the site of the 2nd Runway to us to begin the construction of the runway after compensation was paid to them by the Federal Government.
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, had approved immediate payment of compensation to the people of Jiwa Community for their land by the FCT Administration after negotiation meeting a fortnight ago for the construction of the second runway of the Abuja International Airport.
