Just 2 months after being released from prison, police arrest suspects in a car theft
Police operatives in Lagos State have arrested two suspected car thieves along Egbeda Road, after they snatched a Toyota Corolla 2000 model marked: LND-664-GF.
The suspects, identified as Abiodun Nurudeen, 36, and 45-year-old Anthony Richard were arrested at about 1:30.a.m. on Sunday, July 24.
The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Wednesday, July 27, said the suspects were released on May 5, 2022, and June 4, 2022, respectively from Ikoyi Correctional facility.
According to Benjamin, preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was sn@tched around Lekki, Lagos State.
“While an investigation is ongoing, the owner of the vehicle is hereby urged to come forward with proof of ownership to claim the vehicle. Suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation,” he said.
