Just in: Nyame, Dariye released from prison
Senator Joshua Dariye, former governor of Plateau State, and a former Taraba State governor, Jolly Nyame, who were granted state pardon by the National Council of State have been released from the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre, Abuja.
The former governors who were imprisoned for stealing N1.16bn (Dariye) and N1.6bn (Nyame), are among 159 prisoners pardoned by the Council at a meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in April. The decision, however, generated outcries.
They regained their freedom on Monday.
