Kano lawmaker, Datti empowers 1000 constituents

A lawmaker, representing Kura, Madobi, and Garun Mallam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Yusuf Umar Datti, has empowered over 1000 individuals with various items and cash grants in a bid to enhance their lives.
The empowerment programme in Kano, featured donations of essential items, including four cars, three tricycles, 50 motorcycles, 1000 bags of fertiliser, 50 sewing machines and 50 water pumps.
Other items included grinding machines given to 50 beneficiaries, cash grants of N500,000 to each of 3 youth beneficiaries and cash grants of N30,000 each to 150 women beneficiaries.
Datti explained that the intervention was meant to support the economic and social wellbeing of his constituents.
“As their representative, I see it as my duty to create sustainable initiatives that will improve their quality of life,” he said.
He also highlighted development projects which he executed and and those ongoing to include renovation of Kura General Hospital and road construction.
Others, according to him, are building of primary school blocks, electrification projects and drilling of solar-powered boreholes.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including Gov. Abba Yusuf, represented by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Alhaji Yusuf Kofar Mata.
Yusuf commended Datti for his efforts saying the lawmaker’s initiatives were putting smiles on the faces of his constituents.
The chairman of Kura Local Government Area, Alhaji Rabiu Sulaiman, alongside others also commended Datti for his development strides in the area.
