Labour threatens total strike over increase of petrol price

The Organised Labour, at the African Trade Union alliance meeting in Abuja, threatened to “proceed on total, comprehensive and Indefinite Nationwide Shutdown” of Nigeria if  there is further increase in the pump price of petrol from the current N617 per liter, protesting that such action is “illegal”.

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, speaking at the African Trade Union alliance meeting in Abuja, cautioned that the federal government must not take the Organised Labour for granted or undermine the demands of the NLC.
