Lagos 114 inner roads, a scam – PDP
…Ambode to make public contra ct details in 7 days
By Lanre Adesanya
The Lagos state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has pick holes in the ongoing inner road constructions in the 57 local council units of the state, noting that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is merely playing pranks as the contracts had already been awarded and paid for by his predecessor.
The PDP’s secretary,Barrister Gani Taofeek made this assertion in a recent statement, where he charged the Police, EFCC and ICPC to immediately flush out, arrest and prosecute the 57 executive secretaries in the lagos councils, whom he alleged are, “presently treasonable felons by virtue of taking over the control of parts of the country contrary to section 7, of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) which guarantees only democratically elected local councils.
He however noted that,”the ongoing streets rehabilitation is just one of APC plans to defraud lagosians. Politically it is an attempt to win the hearts of lagosians who are already disenchanted with the Ambode style of governance. Unfortunately, the fraud in the attempt is overwhelming. First, we are aware that the same roads were completely awarded and paid for by former governor, Raji Fashola. The contracts were hijacked by APC chieftains who cornered the monies and contributed 50% of it into the governorship election”.
He added that,Ambode has re awarded the said roads at more exorbitant costs.

“In very shameless manner, the roads are classified as uniform in length and job work. Some that already have drainages and need only clearing are contracted as not having drainage, thus money is again allocated for such drainage.
“Our reliable source within the APC informs us that the Governor may not conduct council polls until those roads are completed and the contract papers cleared off the councils.
It is also suspected that the governor is set to get another monumental loan in the name of completing the roads and other projects.
“We challenge governor Ambode to make public the contract details particularly the contract sums, names of contractors, job specification. This should be done within 7 days otherwise it would amount to doctored details.”Gani stressed.
According to the Lagos PDP scribe, the emergence of the aberration is worsened by the incompetence, totalitarianism and corruption being perpetrated by the Executive secretaries whilst Governor Ambode is hypocritically silent.
The Party mentioned that the executive secretaries are not honestly reimbursing their internally generated revenues and as such depriving the people meaningful developments at that level.
“The Executive secretaries are illegal and unconstitutional and therefore aberration which ought not to be condoned by any serious minded constitutional government and its law enforcement agencies.”
