Lagos police officers seen assulting a man for allegedly refusing to open his phone during a stop-and-search
A team of police officers have been captured a$$aulting a young man who allegedly refused to open his phone during a stop-and-search in Oko Oba area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, May 3, 2023.
According to the victim, he was driving with his friend when the police stopped them and with ‘no tangible reason’ demanded to search their phones.
When he refused, he was dragged and assaulted by at least three policemen, two in uniforms and one in mufti.
Meanwhile, reacting to the issue, the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, asked the image maker of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, to investigate and fist out the officers.
