Man assaults neighbour, destroys properties
A 45-year-old man, Oluwadare Oladele on Tuesday, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating his neighbour and damaging his phone valued at N56,000.
The defendant, a transporter who resides at 18 Olushesi Street, Dopemu, Agege is being tried for assault and he pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The prosecutor, Insp. Olusegun Oke told the court that the offence was committed on Sept. 4 at Dopemu Agege, Lagos.
Oke alleged that a fight ensued between the defendant and his neighbour, Mr Matthew Oluwagbenga over electricity bills.
The prosecutor said that the defendant alongside his friend (name withheld) beat the complainant and damaged his tecno phone valued at N56,000.
The offences according to the prosecutor contravened sections 170, 339 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs S. Odukoya granted N100, 000 bail to the defendant with two sureties in like sum.
Odukoya adjourned the case until Sept. 27 for trial.
