Man attempts to rape 110-yr-old woman in Ekiti
Fifty-six-year-old Abraham Benjamin has been arraigned and remanded before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrate’s Court for attempting to rape a 110-year-old woman.
The suspect committed the offence on April 30, 2018 on Igbehin Street, Ado-Ekiti where the victim lives.
The police prosecutor Caleb Leranmo said the woman was rescued by a “Good Samaritan.”
“The offence contravened Section 359 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State, Nigeria 2012,” he added.
Presideing judge Taiwo Ajibade ordered that the accused be remanded in prison pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
She ruled that the case file should be duplicated and a copy sent to the DPP for advice.
The case was then adhourned till May 22 for mention.
