Man docked for alleged stealing

Court orders the release of 313 suspected terrorist

A 40-year-old man, Neville Efevwiare, on Wednesday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court Lagos, for allegedly stealing N724.6 million worth of shares from Greenwich Securities.

Efevwuare, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count of conspiracy and fraud.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp. Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 5 at Union Bank, Victoria Island.

Olatunde said that the defendant fraudulently gained access to the website of Greenwich Securities and transferred 21,001,000 units of GT bank shares valued at N724.6 million.

He said the offences contravened sections 322(1)(2)(3) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.A. Oshoniyi, granted the defendant N500,000 bail with two sureties each in like sum.

Oshoniyi adjourned the case until April 19 for mention.
