Military Attack: Expedites Compensation of Victims Fed. Govt Urged

Federal government has once again been called to expedites compensate of victims of military rampage in Northbank,Makurdi three months ago.
Governor Samuel Ortom made the call today during a courtesy call on him by the Chief of Army Staff,Lieutenant General Yusuf Buratai at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue People’s House, Makurdi.
He explained that while it would be expedient for the Army to work out compensation of those whose property were destroyed, his administration would fish out the perpetrators with the view of meting out appropriate sanctions against them.
The Governor maintained that he had already forwarded complaint of the incident to President Mohammadu Buhari and was awaiting favourable response from his end.
Governor Ortom recalled the cordial working relationship between the Military formations in the State and his administration, particularly acknowledging the role the Commandant of NASME Brigadier General Dele ogunkale had played in helping to maintain peace among the People.
Speaking Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Baratai who was accompanied by some top Military Brass on the visit, passed a vote of confidence on the Governor for surmounting the numerous security challenges in the State and expressed the hope that the tempo would be sustained for more gains.
The Chief of Army Staff stressed the need for People of the State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement around them to relevant security agencies as part of measures to fight terrorism in the nook and crannies of the Nation.
