Mixed reactions after El-Rufai’s son says an LG in Kano has more voting power than S/East

Bashir El-Rufai, the Son of Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State has taken to his Twitter handle to state that a certain local government in Kano State has more voting power than the entire Southeast region. Recall that there has been more important placed on the votes cast by the Northern region in recent years. This has made several Politicians from other regions made friends with Politicians from the Northern region to get votes which are normally in multiple millions from the region. There’s also this belief that if given a chance, the States in the Northern region of Nigeria can decide who the next president would be due to their voting power.

This, and many more contributed to the analysis made by Bashir El-Rufai. According to him, he said, “Oh and by the way, keep in mind the polity heats up and accusations of rigging will definitely begin in earnest. Just one local government in Kano has more people & hence more voting power than the entire votes cast in all the States in the whole region referred to as the South East.”

This, however, did not go down well with some online users as they threw subtle shades at him. See some of the reactions below;
