Most daring thief walks off with stolen generating set from estate
A common criminal among the band troubling Oke Foma Estate, Ilorin, has been arrested with a generator he stole early Thursday morning.
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested.
The suspect, Abdulwasiu Sulaiman was stopped by the vigilante members of Oke Foma Phase 3 Estate in Ilorin while trying to escape with a generating set he stole.
A statement by the spokesman of the defence corps, Babawale Afolabi, in Ilorin, said the generator valued at N150,000, belonged to one Moshood Otubu, who lives at Oke Foma Phase 2.
The National Daily learnt Abdulwasiu jumped the fence into Otubu’s compound to steal the generator.
Babawale said the suspect has confessed to being a member of a gang that specialises in breaking into people’s houses to steal their valuable items.
The gang was responsible for various housebreaking and burglary cases in recent times.
