NCC spokesman, Reuben Mouka wins NIPR prestigious award
The Director of Public Affairs of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Dr. Reuben Muoka, was on Wednesday in Abuja bestowed with the prestigious ‘Distinguished Spokesperson in Technology Award’ to by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The NIPR National Spokesperson Summit served as a pivotal platform for fostering dialogue, innovation, and collaboration towards advancing the practice of Public Relations in Nigeria and beyond.
The event which was put together by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), with the theme: “Change Narratives, Change Society”, witnessed the Institute honouring journalists and Public Relations practitioners that distinguished themselves as spokespersons in their various professionalfields.
Dr Reuben, who was among other awardees, had also received a fellowship of the Egyptian Embassy in Nigeria to undertake a Pan-African training and tour of Egypt in 1999, which culminated into his receiving an award of a continental Diploma Certificate in Journalism at the instance of the Egyptian Ministry of Information, and the African Journalists Union (AJU) in Cairo, Egypt.

Muoka was also appointed to head the Special Duties Department which superintends the International Relations Unit; Emergency Communication Centres Unit; the Public Private Partnership Unit; and the Security Services Unit of the Commission in 2021 and was later promoted to the position of Director of the Department.
Owing to his versatility, Dr Mouka was redeployment to head the Public Affairs Department of the NCC, an arm of the Commission mandated to manage the image and visibility of Nigeria’s telecom regulator, thus, bringing to bear his wealth of experience in both traditional journalism, public relations, integrated marketing communications (IMC), corporate communications and people management, to bear on the Commission’s vision to expand the frontiers of its public goodwill and the impact of its reputational assets.
Muoka is a bona fide member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ); a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (mnipr); and an associate member of the Registered Practitioners of Advertising (arpa), regulated by the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).
