New Lagos CP assures better policing

The newly appointed commissioner of police Lagos state command (CP) Imonihi Edgal in its effort to ensure better policing of the state will begin touring of all the divisions and stations to meet officers.
The CP,  until his appointment, was Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) Ops of the state command.
His vast knowledge about the Lagos state metropolis and deep experience in the job gave him an edge over other top personnel who were pencil down for the job.
He was once the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) Ikeja were he spent many years before he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) then deployed to Area A lion building command to oversee the affairs within Lagos Island and its environs.
His appointment by the force headquarters has been so much touted within the Nigerian police force.
Among the major task the new police intend to tackle and conquer are problems of kidnapping, cultism and ritual killings which have reached a crescendo in the state.
National Daily gathered that the appointment of the new police boss was considered based on his track record in policing experience especially in Lagos state where he had busted major crimes and restore nolmacy within the state.
National Daily learnt that the new CP, will meet one-on-one with officers and men in all divisions and stations as well as Area commands where he is expected to acquaint them with new strategies to police the state better.
He had earlier on assumption of office met with the state Governor Akinwuml Ambode, intimating him of his readiness to ensure better security in the state and promising to reduce crime by 30% within his first two months as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
National Daily learnt that another major reason that earned the new CP the esteem position was his enormous contribution that resulted in breaking the strong hold of the Badoo cult group and other cult activities that have been terrorising Ikorodu and other parts of Lagos.
