Nigeria beats Germany in third place match, wins bronze medal in FIFA U17 Female World Cup
Nigeria’s Flamingos on Sunday defeated Germany in their third place match to win a historic bronze medal at the FIFA U-17 Female World Cup in India. Nigeria, with the victory, revenged the loss of the first match to Germany in the competition.

The match in the regulatory time ended 3-3. The penalty kicks, Nigeria won 3-2.
Nigeria scored through Opeyemi Ajakaye in the 20th minute of the game.

The Flamingos of Nigeria increased the lead in the third minute of the second half through of Aminat Bello.
Etim Edidiong scored the third goal in the 63rd minute to make it three for Nigeria.
The Germans came back strong, scoring three goals in the last 17 minutes of the match to draw level before full time.
Winning, bronze, Ajakaye also won the Player of the Match.
