Nigeria ranks 95th happiest nation worldwide & sixth in Africa
Nigeria has ranked 95th happiest nation in the world & sixth in Africa, with 4.981 points according to the latest edition of the World Happiness Report.
The report was released on Monday, March 20, by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network as part of the United Nations’ International Day of Happiness.
The report shows that Nigeria has increased 23 places in the world happiness ranking.
According to the report, Nigeria now ranks 95 of the 137 countries surveyed. The data shows that Nigeria ranks below Guinea, Ukraine, Ivory Coast and Gabon and above Cameroon, Mozambique, Iraq, Palestine and Morocco. Mauritius tops African countries in the yearly United Nations-sponsored index of 137 nations.
The report shows that for the sixth time in a row, Finland is the country with the happiest people, with a score significantly ahead of all other countries, while Afghanistan remains at the bottom of the ranking in a league table of 137 countries.
