Nigerian government disburses N690m to fight coronavirus
The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, on Friday disclosed that the federal government has approved and disbursed all funds required by the Port Health Services and the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), which he described as the country’s first and second lines of defence for corona virus.
The minister stated in Abuja that the federal government has disbursed over N70 million to Port Health Services and N620 million to the NCDC.
The minister assured that the Federal Government is well-prepared and is working closely with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to contain the disease.
He noted the challenge of having little quantity of reagents to diagnose the virus but added that there is improvement on the supply of the substances.
The minister had on Friday confirmed the incident of corona virus in Lagos.
