Nine dead, seven injured after gunman opened fire at a mall in the U.S
A gunman has killed nine people and injured seven others in a mass shooting at a shopping mall in Texas, USA on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
The yet-to-be-named man was said to have stepped out of a silver sedan and opened f+re at the Premium Outlets mall. He was shot dead by a police officer who happened to be nearby, authorities said.
The Allen fire chief, Jonathan Boyd, said six people died at the scene and two more were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Three out of the seven people injured are in a critical conditions.
An Allen police officer was in the area on an unrelated call when he heard sh%ts at 3.36pm, the police department said in a statement.
“The officer engaged the suspect and neutralized the thr£at. He then called for emergency personnel,” the agency said.
