Nnamdi Kanu: 29 ESN operatives in police net for enforcing IPOB sit-at-home order in southeast

About 29 members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) were on Monday arrested by the Imo State Police Command for obstructing legitimate activities of citizens towards enforcing the sit-at-home order imposed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the southeast. The Imo State Police Command, is therefore, detaining the 29 Eastern Security Network members at various locations in the state. The ESN members are being detained for compelling unwilling citizens to comply with the IPOB sit-at-home order.

The Police Command paraded the 29 ESN members at the Command’s Headquarters in Owerri, under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro. The CP told Imo residents to ignore the sit-at-home order and carry out their legitimate businesses without fear of molestation or harassment by IPOB members.

The CP assured Imo people that the State Police Command has put strong security measures in place to guarantee their safety and ensure that no group destabilizes the state’s congenial tranquility.

Members of the IPOB had declared Monday sit-at-home day in the southeast. Security operatives were mobilized to ensure that no one infringes on the rights of any law-abiding citizen in the southeast who chooses to go out for business on Monday.
