Okowa congratulates Prof. Sam Oyovbaire at 80
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has rejoiced with the former Minister of Information, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, as he turns 80 on Wednesday.
Oyovbaire, who chairs the Delta State Advisory Council and the Governing Council of Delta State University, Abraka, is a renowned academic and astute politician.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, on Tuesday in Asaba, Okowa lauded the renowned Professor of Political Science for his contributions to the development and growth of Delta, particularly, toward the attainment of Stronger Delta vision of his administration.
He recalled that Oyovbaire, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), played significant role in his emergence as governor having served as Chairman of his Campaign Council and had continued to support the government in taking the state to lofty heights.
The governor specially commended the former minister for his steadfastness in committing to the success of his administration, adding that he would continue to treasure his counseling at all times.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I wish to congratulate our father and leader of inestimable value, Prof. (Chief) Sam Ejite Oyovbaire, on the occasion of his 80th birth anniversary.
“It is my pleasure to join your family, friends and well-wishers in thanking Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 80 years.
“Your life has been marked with amazing forthrightness, outstanding patriotism and accomplished service to humanity and nation-building,” he stated, and prayed that divine light would continue to shine on him.
