Oshiomhole reveals why Tinubu didn’t honor the LCCI invitation
The Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was invited by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry [LCCI] to speak on how he intends to run the affairs of the Nation and also concerning the private sector as well. Unfortunately, Asiwaju didn’t honor that invitation while the two other major Presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Abubakar Atiku honored the invitation.
Rufai Oseni asked the Director general of the Asiwaju campaign, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on why his principal didn’t honor the invitation. He said, ”Firstly, we are not going to copy what other candidates do. The heart of the competition is the choice of style, whose style do you prefer and our views are not the same and that’s the basis for choice for Nigerians which do you prefer.
The chambers of Commerce are very enlightened people. I’m not sure they have the view that they are not recognized and I didn’t say anything to suggest that. It’s just like your NUJ, I found out that in NUJ you have a vibrant union of Journalists but when you want to meet with NUJ, you won’t find people like my friend Reuben Abati, you won’t find Rufai there. You won’t find all the Chief editors there and even when you want to hold a meeting with editors, you will find out that some of the sub-editors will not be there. So it’s just like, we have respect for those associations.”
