Osibona’s wife, brothers go physical over late developer’s fortunes at Ikoyi, popular lawyer hired
Less than 24 hours after the remains of Femi Osibona, CEO of Fourscore Heights Ltd was recovered from the rubble of a 21-story towers he was building in Ikoyi, Lagos, family feuds have erupted over his fortunes.
The wife flew in Friday from the US, and headed to Femi’s apartment on Mosley Road, in Ikoyi, with mobile police officers.
But already there, with a team of mobile police officers too, were her brothers-in-law, keeping watch on the apartment.
The mother of four and her in-laws then pitched into each other in a shouting match, all night.
“The brothers and wife of Femi Osibona are fighting over access to bank details of the deceased and keys to expensive vehicles. This is despite the fact that the man has a wife and four kids. The body is yet to be buried; they are already fighting over his property. His wife was at the site yesterday, shouting at his brothers. I think there are loads of cash in the house,” a report by Sahara Reporters quoted a source.
“Femi’s brothers have stopped his wife and daughter from getting into his apartment. It is such a mess that money has become the root of all this evil. The brother asked the wife to go and stay at the hotel and she claimed she has no money to go there.”
As it turned out a long-drawn-out war just starting, the frustrated neighbours of the late billionaire had to act.
Osibona and about 40 others died in the collapsed building last Monday, four months after Lagos government claimed it stop further construction on the building.
The National Daily reported earlier no fewer than nine have been rescued so far.
