Over a dozen killed as bandits attack deputy governor convoy
National Daily learned that the bandits exchanged bullets with security operatives attached to the deputy governor’s convoy. The attack was a full confrontation as the gun battle lasted for almost an hour.
The deputy governor was attacked on his way back from Danko-Wassagu Local Government Area of the State where he had gone to visit some communities attacked by bandits a few days earlier.
Confirming the attack, a Special Adviser to the deputy governor, Abdullahi Musa disclosed that the convoy was attacked in Kanya village.
“It was face to face with the bandits and you know he is a retired military officer and he still has some military techniques which also helped him during the shootout with the bandits,”.
“He was not alone, he was accompanied with top military officers in the state, about 36 of them,”.
Sources reveal that the bandits who were on motorcycles laid an ambush for the Deputy Governor. The attack is coming a day after 63 vigilante personnel were massacred by the gunmen.
