Owo killings: CAN youth wing declares 3-day mourning
The Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria has declared three days mourning over the killing of worshippers in Ondo State.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere, National Chairman of the wing.
The group said it received with rude shock the attack on St. Francis Church, Owo, where many people were killed and others wounded.
“We are devastated, the nation is bleeding.
This is evil, wicked and a monstrous act,” it said.
It, therefore, called on all Christian youths in the country to observe three days mourning and pray for the souls of those killed and total recovery of those injured.
“The government must act now and ensure that the perpetrators are exposed and brought to book.
“I urge security agencies to commence full scale investigations in a bid to arrest the perpetrators of this dastardly act and to avoid recurrence.”
The CAN youth commiserated with all Christians and prayed to God to grant the departed souls eternal rest.
