PDP BoT shake-up brings Wabara in; Ayu survives Wike’s plot
PDP’s BoT chairman Whalid Jibrin has resigned after the Thursday BoT meeting in Abuja.
Jibrin recently agreed with angry Rivers Gov Nyesom Wike who says the party is pro-north.
Wike realization came when he failed twice to grab the party presidential and the V.P. slot though he claimed before then he would never be a second-class citizen.
The bitter loser has since plunged the party, its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar into uncertainty.
The Wike camp now demands the resignation of another northerner , Iyorchia Ayu, who chairs the party’s National Working Committee.
Jibrin might have opted out to adjust the north-heavy PDP leadership upper crust.
He denied this though.
“I took the decision to help our candidate win the presidential election by all means,” he said.
He said Atiku will consider him for a bigger position if he wins the election.
Stepping in now is former Sen. President Adolphus Wabara from the southeast.
The adjustment equally affects the PDP Governor Forum chairman Aminu Tambuwal who will soon resign.
