PDP Governors’ Forum applauds Seyi Makinde on OYSG-SNG mega gas project
The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF), under the Chairmanship of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed @SenBalaMohammed of Bauchi State, on behalf of all the member Governors heartily applauded Governor Seyi Makinde @seyiamakinde of Oyo State, his cabinet and the good people of Oyo State on the progress report at the signing of the Final Investment Agreement in London on May 5,2024 for the multi-billion Naira Oyo State Government (OYSG)-Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) Infrastructure Development and Distribution project.

The Director General of the PDP-GF, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, in a statement @OfficialPDPNig in Abuja on Wednesday, indicated that “the Forum is elated with this visionary initiative enabled by his sub-national’s ability to create a conducive business environment for both local and foreign-based investors towards the growth of the State’s economy”.
The project involved the construction of a Pressure Reduction and Metering Station (PRMS) and laying of pipelines by SNG on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis.
According to the PDP-GF, the Makinde administration, by this agreement, is bringing the first flow of gas to industrial, manufacturing and commercial entities as well as the state-owned Independent Power Project in Oyo State in 18 months.
The PDP Governors, therefore, declared: “we are glad to promote its multiple benefits for the State, region and nation, generally, as we confidently see a momentous economic leap ahead, guided by a 20-year timed transfer of ownership to the OYSG.
“With a guaranteed growth in Commerce and Trade in the State, we foresee abundant business and employment opportunities for the people affirming the government’s poverty rescue mission.
“Your Excellency, you have the assurances of our support always, as we look forward to its successful completion and commissioning for service delivery”.
