Atiku prepares to challenge Tinubu’s victory at Tribunal, says this grave injustice shall not stand
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council on Wednesday disclosed its preparations to head to the Presidential Election Tribunal to challenge the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in the Saturday elections.
The spokesperson of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Dino Melaye, in a statement on Wednesday, urged PDP members and supporters to remain calm, assuring that the party would recover the stolen mandate.
Melaye in the statement declared: “A clarion call on all Atiku’s supporters all over the world not to be perturbed. Weeping may tarry till night but joy cometh in the morning,
“This grave injustice shall not stand. The battle to retrieve our stolen mandate is a battle of no retreat, no surrender. We shall overcome.”
Atiku, contesting the presidential election for the third time, after three failures at the primary nomination stages, was defeated by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC in the Saturday presidential election. Not satisfied with the outcome of the election and the defeat, Atiku is set to take the battle to the tribunal enroute the Supreme Court.
Dino Melaye had, before storming out of the National Collation Centre at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, told the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, that they will meet in court.
