Pochettino seeks better Chelsea relationship with supporters
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino hopes that Thursday night’s narrow 4-3 win over Manchester United will address the disconnect between the fans and the team and seal a better relationship between both parties as the Blues go through a difficult campaign in the Premier League.
A late Cole Palmer double goals – his first brace for Chelsea – saw the West London side claim all points after the team had faltered against Burnley in their penultimate Premier League game.
The club’s fans in recent games have turned the heat on the former PSG and Tottenham Hotspur manager and most of his players with qualification for an European competition looking increasingly difficult.
Pochettino thoroughly enjoyed the outcome of the game at Stamford Bridge and spoke to the media on his thoughts.
“Of course I enjoyed it. It was amazing because I was thinking we deserved it, we were the better team against Manchester United.
It was fair when we scored in the last minute,” noted Pochettino.

“We started the game really well and at 2-0 for us the game was under control.
Then we made a mistake and we suffered a big emotional impact. It wasn’t easy to deal with this.
“In the second half again we controlled the game and we conceded in transition.
Of course the way we conceded the three goals was disappointing because I think we should be better in these types of situations. But if you analyse the game I think it was a fair result, three points for us.
“And to finish in the way that we finished, for the connection between our players and fans, it was a very good thing that happened for us tonight and it should be a turning point for the team and the fans to have trust in each other.”
The club’s fans had booed the coach and his players in recent Premier League matches
