Police crackdown on criminals in Kano, arrest 94 suspects
The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of 94 suspects linked to various crimes, including suspected armed robbery, kidnapping, human trafficking, and drugs in different parts of the state.
The state commissioner of police, Ibrahim Bakori, at a news briefing on the achievements of the command on Monday, said that several exhibits including firearms, ammunition, motor vehicles, motorcycles, and illicit drugs were recovered from the suspects.
“We arrested eight armed robbery suspects, eight suspected kidnappers, three human trafficking suspects, 14 suspected drug dealers and 61 suspected thugs (Yan-Daba)
”The command also successfully rescued one victim of human trafficking,” he said.
The commissioner attributed the feat to community-centered approach adopted by the command, adding that it entails combining robust community engagement with tactical policing strategies.
He added that the success demonstrate the effectiveness of community-centered policing and the command’s commitment to tackling crime in the state. (NAN)
