Police nabs suspect over election violence in Lagos

Operatives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspect in connection with the political violence that rocked Lagos State, especially Oshodi during the last general elections.
The suspect whose name is Adedunmoye Jamiu, alias Desokan is a member of a notorious gang that has been terrorizing residents of Oshodi-Mafoluku, and was said to be a key suspect in several clashes in the area that has claimed lives and properties.
According to a resident of the area who craved for anonymity, Desokan has been a thorn in the flesh of residents of both Oshodi and Mafoluku for years. He praised the Lagos State Police Command for the investigations that has finally led to the arrest of the suspect who has been on the run since after the general election in April, 2015.
A senior operative told National Daily that investigation is still ongoing, especially on the whereabouts of the rest of the gangs. Meanwhile, the suspect is cooling off his heels at the dreaded lion building detention facility.
