Police restore normalcy at Alaba market, quell traders, hoodlums clash
The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday intervened to bring under control the chaos at the Alaba International Market, Ojo, after the violent clash between traders and thugs.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on his verified Twitter handle revealed that normalcy has been restored at the market following the intervention of the stae police command.
The PPRO had stated: “Alaba International Market is calm. Normalcy has been restored. @rrslagos767 and men of Ojo Division are on the ground, under the supervision of Area Commander Festac, ACP Igbafe Afegbai. There is no cause for alarm as monitoring continues.”
There were trending videos on social media on Wednesday showing in chaos at the electronics market where many youths were seen wielding sticks and machetes while people run in different directions.
