Police warn Nigerians against antics of one-chance
The Nigeria Police Force has again warned Nigerians on the activities of one-chance robbers across the country.
According to the police, one of the methods being adopted by the criminals to rob Nigerians is called, “Shifting Chair-One Chance.”
This was made known in a photo shared on the force’s Facebook page on Monday.
The force urged citizens to be vigilant, watchful and avoid boarding vehicles not painted in commercial colour or vehicles without proper identification.
The police’s security alert read, “It has become vital to intimate members of the public about trending methods adopted by criminals to rob unsuspecting citizens of their possessions. One of such is known as ‘Shifting Chair- One Chance.’
“The Nigeria Police Force advises citizens and other residents in Nigeria to be very watchful and avoid vehicles not marked commercially or vehicles without proper identification.”
One-chance is an organised crime, perpetrated by people who work together, using a strategy of hailing passengers into their waiting vehicles.
They capitalise on the transport needs of passengers, especially during rush hours in the morning and the evenings.
