Reactions as Tinubu appoints Emeka Woke, CEO, Ogun-Osun River Basin Dev Authority, after resignation from Fubara’s cabinet in Rivers
Several stakeholders in the polity have reacted to the reported appointment of Emeka Woke as the CEO of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority by President Bola Tinubu after he resigned from the Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet in Rivers State as commissioner.
National Daily Newspaper gathered that Emeka Woke was Chief of Staff to Nyesom Wike when he was Governor of Rivers State. Emeka Woke had resigned recently as Commissioner for Special Projects in Rivers State.
Stakeholders took to their social media handles; and these are what they said:
@iamkkrichard
“A commissioner in Rivers State is richer than any CEO of whatever basin.”
@Unwanaassam1
“Tinubu is now taking it as a duty to give Wike’s loyalists appointments to spite Governor Fubara.”
@otuene_claude
“Congratulations to him
“Let him go and allow Rivers State to have peace.”
@Greatix_post
“It’s good. They should all take federal appointments and allow Rivers State be.
” It’s also for their benefit if Rivers is growing.
“By the way, what is Wike’s source of income outside politics?”
Protesting, these stakeholders declared:
@Walemorak
“This appointment is a spite on the face of Ogun/Osun indigene.
“Does it mean none of people in Ogun and Osun have no prerequisite qualifications for such a post?”
@blacksparrow_01
“Ronuist over to you! An Igbo man is the CEO of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority. I thought we agreed that no Igbo man must hold a position in Yoruba land??”
@gbengalawy
“Why is Tinubu giving such position to outsider. It should have been for a son of the soil.”
