Salah to replace Messi at Barcelona
Barcelona reportedly view Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as the ideal successor to Lionel Messi, a report claims.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Catalan giants see Salah as a €250million (£226m) successor to Argentine star Messi.
Salah was the Premier League Golden Boot winner last season and was linked with a summer move to Real Madrid.
However, Barca are ready to take on their Clasico rivals in the race for Salah, who they view as the perfect replacement once Messi leaves.
Kylian Mbappe is also apparently on Barca’s wish list, but the Nou Camp side are planning to make a move for Salah next summer.
The 25-year-old did appear to have silenced the rumours in a interview with the Bleacher Report.
In the wake of Barcelona’s pursuit of the Egyptian attacker as €250m Messi replacement, salah has revealed that Liverpool is home and have no intentions of leaving.
“I’m very happy now in Liverpool. They have made me feel like I’m home. It is amazing with the fans here,” Salah said.
“They sing songs for you in the stadium. They chant your name, fans wear your shirt everywhere. It is beautiful.
“I give football my whole life. So I’m happy.”
