Sani ridicules Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso
Senator Shehu Sani has mocked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, candidate of the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiú Musa Kwankwaso, candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) over speculations of planning to go into merger against President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) if the presidential petitions election tribunal annuls the February 25 election and orders a rerun or another overall election.

Shehu Sani, ridiculing Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso, noted that the merger plan is good for democracy in Nigeria, but considered such arrangement as an afterthought.

Shehu Sani mocks Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso over merger plan
In Sani’s perspective, such an arrangement was expected to be the plan before the 2023 general elections, and not after the three political leaders split from one party and lost the election.
Shehu Sani in a statement ridiculed Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso, thus:
Senator Shehu Sani
@ShehuSani
“The speculation that the opposition are planning to unite is good for democracy;
“now they are studying geography after the earthquake.”
Meanwhile, several stakeholders in the polity have also expressed that President Tinubu and the APC are also preparing ahead for a probable rerun presidential election if the tribunal so decides in its judgement. The stakeholders insinuate that President Tinubu appointed political actors into his cabinet he can rely on in the event of a rerun election.

Apparently, on either sides, there are feelings of rerun presidential election, as may be decided by the presidential election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja.
Meanwhile, Peter Obi had told Labour Party supporters that what they hear about merger with other parties is not completely true. He, however, did not say exactly what is the true story.
Atiku Abubakar, while being silent on the speculation, has been meeting with his support groups in recent times.
APC had, however, said recently that if there will be any rerun presidential election, it will be between President Bola Tinubu of the APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, and not with Peter Obi of the LP.
