Sanwo-Olu wins APC ticket for second term in Lagos
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won a second term ticket to represent the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s governorship election in Lagos.
The governor was declared winner of the governorship primary election held at the Onikan Stadium on Thursday by Adamu Shetima Yuguda, Chairman, Lagos State Primary Election Committee.
Sanwo-Olu polled a total of 1,170 votes out of a total of 1,198 accredited voters from across the State.
The governor defeated two other contestants, Wale Oluwo and Abdulahmed Olorunfemi Mustapha.
The stadium erupted in a shout of joy the moment the governor was declared winner of the primary election.
The other two contestants, Oluwo and Mustapha were not present at the stadium during the election. It was a one way affair, as all the delegates voted for Sanwo-Olu.
