Senate swears in Akobundu as PDP Senator representing Abia Central
The Senate on Wednesday sworn in Austin Akobundu as the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, had on November 4, declared Akobundu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the February 25 senatorial election in Abia Central.

Akobundu represents Abia Central on the PDP platform, Orji Kalu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) represents Abia North senatorial district, and Enyinnaya Abaribe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) represents Abia South.
