Tammy Abraham already causing problems for Mourinho at Roma
Tammy Abraham’s start to life at Roma has been perfect, with the former Chelsea striker scoring goals and putting in excellent performances for the Serie A club.
Abraham’s salary at AS Roma are generating issues for the Roma board, according to sources from Italy.
Abraham was already making big earnings as a young player at Chelsea before joining Roma on a salary of €4.5 million a year plus €6 million in bonuses, according to sources, and the 23-year-old is now the club’s highest earner.
A Roma player hasn’t been paid this highly since Daniele de Rossi and Edin Dzeko, and even the great Francesco Totti didn’t receive such money.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Abraham’s Roma colleagues are well aware of his high wages, and some are now requesting a raise as well.
Lorenzo Pellegrini, Roma’s Captain, is negotiating a new contract and is requesting a significantly larger pay than his present €2.5 million, which was the highest at the club before to Abraham’s arrival.
As a result of signing Tammy Abraham, who is already doing well at Roma, Mourinho and the Roma board now have a new challenge to address.
