Teams jostle for prizes as dignitaries storm Ijebu Ode
All is now set for the grand finale of Sir Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation KAAF Under 18 male and under 17 female Football tournament for year 2018, as Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode comes alive for the annual football ritual recently.
National Daily learnt that the competition is an annual developmental Football tournament in the itinerary of the Ogun State Football Association, sponsored by the Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation, which is owned by business mogul and philanthropist,Kesington Adebutu (Baba Ijebu).
It is designed for teams in all zones in Ogun State, with Remo, Ijebu, Yewa and Egba all participating.
This year’s finals will see the Egba Football team tackle the Yewa Football team in the female version at 11am, while Ijebu Ode and Ijebu North Football team will lock horns in the male finals at 2pm.
Special guest of Honour is the Governor of Ogun State, his Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Chief host is the Honourable Commissioner for youths and sports in the gateway state Hon. Afolabi Afuape, while host is Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, executive board member of the Nigeria Football Federation and the Chairman Ogun State Football Association.
Ahead of the finals, chairman of Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi hinted that new innovations in terms of organization and guests will be witnessed.
Alhaji Majekodunmi who is also an executive board member of the Nigeria Football Federation appreciated Sir Kesington Adebutu for his continuous support towards developing Football in the state, while adding that it is a privilege having him as a pillar of support.
