Terror Alert panic: As Buhari stays away, Defence Headquarters tells Nigerians to be calm
The terror attack alert by the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK) is still causing panic in the FCT, Abuja. while President Muhammadu Buhari has embarked on frequent travels out of the country since the terror alert was raised, the Defence Headquarters have assured Nigerians that there is no cause for alarm. Other organs of the federal government had dismissed the terror alert by the US and UK.
President Buhari had on arrival from South Korea, proceeded on medical foreign trip to the UK. These were after his international engagement in Kenya.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, and the Director of Defence Media Information, Major General Jimmy Akpor, at the biweekly media briefing in Abuja on Thursday assured Nigerians of protection.
At the briefing on Thursday, the Army disclosed that over 40 terrorists were neutralised by military troops, adding that a total of 145 other terrorists have surrendered in the last two weeks.
