U17 AFCON hosts Tanzania promised cars, 3 million for Golden Eaglets
Hosts of the 2019 U17 AFCON Tanzania have been promised huge cash gifts as well as a car each just hours to their opening game today against the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, National Daily gathered.
Tanzanian tycoon Reginald Mengi has promised Serengeti, as the Tanzania U17s are known, 20 million Tanzanian Shillings (about 3 million Naira each) each should they win their first two matches including today’s match against the Eaglets.
National Daily gathered that each Serengeti player will also get a car should they qualify for the U17 World Cup in Brazil for the first time in the country’s history.
Mengi gave each of the Tanzania U17 players a million Tanzanian Shillings (about 156,000 Naira) when they won an COSAFA Invitational Tournament in December 2018.
