UBA lights up festive season with annual garden ceremony
The United Bank for Africa (UBA), through its corporate social responsibility arm, the UBA Foundation, has officially kicked off the holiday season with its annual garden light-up ceremony.
Held on Monday at the bank’s head office in Lagos, the event gathered staff, customers, and well-wishers for an evening filled with festive cheer, gratitude, and a strong sense of community.
This annual tradition, which has become a cornerstone of UBA Foundation’s initiatives, symbolizes the bank’s commitment to fostering unity and spreading joy during the Christmas season.
The ceremony featured dazzling festive decorations, captivating light displays, fireworks, and vibrant musical performances, creating an atmosphere of hope and celebration.
Speaking at the event, UBA’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Oliver Alawuba, underscored the significance of the ceremony in reflecting the values of the bank and its appreciation for the dedication of its staff and customers.
“As we approach Christmas, a season of love and giving, this event serves as a reminder of the importance of community and the spirit of generosity,” Alawuba said.
“This year has been challenging, but together, we have achieved remarkable milestones. I am grateful to our staff, customers, and the executive management team, as well as the leadership of our chairman, Tony Elumelu, for their unwavering commitment to excellence.”
