Unknown gunmen kill police officer in Calabar
The Cross River Police Command on Saturday confirmed that unknown gunmen killed one of its personnel, Sgt. Peter Ikwen, on Saturday at Edgerton Street, Calabar, Cross River State.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, SP Irene Ugbo, confirming the incident said: “I have just gathered that a police sergeant was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the early hours of today (Saturday) and his rifle was taken away by the assailants.”
She said that investigation has begun to unravel those behind the condemnable killing.
