Why I should be elected next Senate President
The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Tuesday declared that it is his turn to become the Senate President.
Kalu made this assertion while answering questions from reporters at the National Assembly.
He urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the seat to his village in Igbere in Abia North Senatorial District.

He said with his position as the Chief Whip of the ninth Senate, he is the most ranking Senator from the South East and therefore deserves the position.
The former governor of Abia State defeated Nnamdi Iroh of Labour Party and Chief Mao Ohuabunwa on February 25, polling 30, 805 as against the 25,540 by its closest rival from the Labour Party.
Godswill Akpabio is also eyeing the Senate Presidency.
